Fracture

Indication3

The patient is positioned either prone or supine with the affected arm extended in front of the patient and the elbow flexed to 90 degrees.

Step 1. Axial data set acquired to cover the extent of the fracture proximally (mid-shaft of the humerus) to the distal forearm.
Step 2. Use axial data set to obtain coronal reformats of the humerus. Align parallel to the line through both distal epicondyles as shown (Fig1)
Step 3. Use the coronal reformats of the distal humerus to obtain the sagittal reformats, align parallel to the humeral shaft. (Fig2).
Step 4. Use sagittal data set to obtain axial reformats of the radius and ulna. Align parallel to the radial head as shown (Fig3).
